Atlantic College Yearbook 2020-21

The Atlantic College yearbook was, in retrospect, a much larger design project than I initially understood. What I had imagined as a collection of photographs and memories became over 150 individual design projects, each requiring its own layout, image selection, typography, colour, and visual treatment. Across 13 weeks I worked through roughly 40GB of files, building and refining the book almost entirely in Photoshop.

My role covered the full production process: developing page layouts, editing and compositing photographs, designing graphics, establishing visual consistency across hundreds of pages, and preparing the final files for print. The scale of the project meant that consistency became as important as individual page design — small decisions about type, spacing and image treatment had to work across an entire publication while still allowing each section to feel distinct.

There is a constant balance between creative decisions and production constraints, and a good page is only useful if it can be reproduced consistently across the next hundred. This was my first real experience managing a large creative project from an essentially blank canvas to a finished physical product, and gave me a much better understanding of the discipline required to make visual work coherent at scale.
