Nas and I
Album Artwork, 2025
This album cover was created for a jazz track produced by JTD, with the artwork intended to explore the same ideas as the music: time, ephemerality and recurrence. Rather than illustrating those themes literally, I wanted the image to feel transient and slightly ambiguous — something familiar appearing to dissolve, repeat or change form.
I built the final composition by combining and manipulating my own photographs with a stock photograph of a flower, using layered compositing, distortion, colour treatment and texture to transform the original images into something much less recognisable. The flower became less of a subject in itself and more of a visual structure around which to build the composition, with the repeated forms and saturated tones suggesting movement and impermanence.
The project was a useful exercise in treating photography as raw material rather than a finished image, and is one of many covers designed for JTD.
