INVENTORY — Product Discovery & Collection Platform
Independent Project, 2025–2026
INVENTORY is a platform for discovering, organising and cataloguing physical products — essentially a personal catalogue for the things you own, use and want. I built it around the idea that product discovery is scattered across retailers, social media and saved folders, with no good place to actually build a structured collection of things you own and love.
I took the project from an idea through to a working product, securing a £3,000 grant along my two co-founders to develop it further. I designed and developed the frontend from scratch, building the interface and product catalogue, while also working across parts of the backend and connecting the different pieces of the system. Alongside the technical development, I shaped the product itself — its visual identity, interaction design and the underlying idea of how people should browse and organise products.
The project has been a useful exercise in working on multiple parts of a thing: defining a problem, pitching the idea well enough to secure funding, designing the product, building it and figuring out what actually needs to exist for the idea to work.
